Clerk & Responsible Financial Officer
📍 Lilleshall Parish Council, Shropshire

Lilleshall Parish Council is looking to appoint a motivated and community-focused Clerk & Responsible Financial Officer to lead the day-to-day administration of the Council.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with strong leadership and organisational skills. Previous experience in local government is preferred, but applications from candidates with relevant skills and experience are welcomed.

Hours: 18 hours per week
Salary: NJC SCP 22–28 (depending on qualifications and experience)

The role includes:
✅ Preparing agendas and minutes
✅ Managing accounts, payroll, pensions & PAYE
✅ Budgeting, invoicing & payments
✅ Managing staff and council assets
✅ Organising council projects and events
✅ Allotments and street lighting management
✅ Report writing and general administration
✅ Liaising with councillors, organisations and residents

The role is a combination of office-based working at the Parish Council Office in Hillside, Lilleshall (Tuesdays and alternate Thursdays), together with home working.

Attendance at the Parish Council meeting on the second Tuesday of each month (excluding August) is required, along with occasional committee and other council meetings.

📅 Closing Date: Thursday 31st July
🎤 Interviews are expected to take place in early August, with an ideal start date in September.
